This I2C extender adapter is used to join two I2C cables together to increase cable length.  While we recommend keeping cables as short as possible, users willing to slow the I2C communication speed can benefit by increasing cable distances.  There is no possible way to determine the maximum distances an I2C signal can travel, as different I2C devices have different electrical properties.  This I2C extender adapter is perfect for users who need to experiment with I2C cable distance.  Use multiple I2C extender boards for longer runs.  Despite our advise to keep cables short, we have some customers who have tested I2C communications distance over 100 feet without issues.  In these applications, shielded wire is typically needed along with careful monitoring of the I2C SCL and SDA signals to ensure noise is as low as possible.  Includes 4 mounting holes for easy installation.
