Industrial IoT Wireless 2-Channel Vibration Temperature Sensor V3 for Hazardous Environments
NCD’s new C1D2 certified long range wireless Dual-Channel vibration sensor represents a first for long range wireless IoT sensors designed specifically for use in hazardous environments. With C1D2 Group A, B, C, and D certification, this long range wireless vibration sensor is specified for use in hazardous environments where potentially explosive gasses, dust, fibers, or flammable vapors may be present. This includes hazardous gases and vapors that may contain Acetylene, Hydrogen, Ether, Ethyl, Ethelene, Gasoline, Acetone, Ammonia, Benzene, Butane, Methanol, and Propane. NCD’s C1D2 certified sensors are the only long range wireless products available on the market today that may be used in chemical plants, oil and gas refineries, paint shops, cleaning facilities, mills, flour silos, mining, and loading facilities for flammable gases, liquids, and solids.
With and integrated antenna and up to a 2-mile range using a wireless mesh networking architecture, this sensor incorporates a 900MHz 128-Bit AES encrypted transceiver that sends data at user-defined intervals over long distances to a wireless gateway. This IoT Vibration Sensor goes to sleep between transmissions to minimize power consumption and prolong battery life. Incorporating a 16-bit Vibration and Temperature sensor, this sensor transmits highly accurate vibration data at user-defined intervals. These all-in-one vibration sensors can send computed results thanks to inbuilt FFT and also RAW data for further processing on the user end.
The Industrial IoT Wireless Vibration Temperature Sensor V3 is packed with features like Acceleration calculation, Velocity Calculation, and Time Domain Data Analysis For FFT. User configurable Data aggregation interval ranging from 1 second to 10 seconds.
The Industrial IoT Wireless Vibration Temperature Sensor V3 samples 2048 samples each Axis and then calculates RMS and maximum vibration readings. This sensor combines the information with temperature data in a data packet, and transmits the result to modems and gateways within wireless range. Once transmission is complete, the vibration sensor goes back to sleep – thus minimizing power consumption.
The on-board IoT Vibration Sensor is rated for -40°C to 85°C or -40°F to 185°F. This Industrial IoT Wireless Vibration Sensor Transmitter is Powered by just 6 AA batteries (included) with an operational battery life of 500,000 wireless transmissions. This sensor includes a programmable transmission interval. Between transmissions, this sensor will go to sleep, extending the life of the batteries. This sensor typically sends a transmission every 10 minutes with a 600 Second transmission interval. Up to 10 years of battery life may be achieved depending on environmental conditions and the transmission interval you choose.

Node-RED offers the flexibility to handle just about any cloud platform imaginable or keep your data on your own server without using a 3rd party ecosystem. General Vibration Guidelines
Here are some recommended vibration standards, you can compare these readings with our Long Range IoT Wireless Vibration Temperature Sensor to determine if your device is operating properly or if it may require service (note that actual equipment and application may vary):
A. 0.01g or Less & 0.5mm/sec or Less — Excellent condition, No action required
B. 0.35g or less & 0.8mm/sec or Less — Good Condition, No action required unless the machine is noisy or running at abnormal temperature
C. 0.5g or less & 2.0mm/sec or Less — Fair Condition, No action required unless the machine is noisy or running at abnormal temperature
D. 0.75g or More & 5mm/sec or Less — Rough Condition, possible action required if machine is noisy and also check the bearing temperature
E. 1g or More & 7.5mm/sec or Less — Very Rough Conditions, further analysis and see if its doing this continuously. Also check for noise and temperature
F. 1.5g or More & 12.0mm/sec or Less — Danger Level, there is definitely a problem in the machine or installation. Also check the temperature Log
G. 2.5g or More & 18mm/sec or Less — Shut-down the Machine immediately and look for possible causes. Call a technician for immediate repair

Industrial Wireless Vibration Monitor vs Long Range IoT Vibration Monitor
We realize that the Industrial Wireless version and the Long Range IoT version seem very similar and in fact are. The Industrial Wireless line has a few improvements over its counterpart in the Long Range Wireless line in form and fit, but maintain the same function. Industrial Wireless versions may have a longer battery life, optional off-board sensors, more accurate readings, and other frequency ranges.

What is Class 1 Division 2 Certification?
Class 1, Division 2 is a hazardous location rating system that indicates where flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dust may be present. It also specifies the types of technology that are safe to use in these environments. Class 1, Division 2 locations are places where flammable liquids or gases are used, processed, or handled. These liquids or gases are usually kept in closed systems or containers, and can only escape if the systems or containers deteriorate or rupture. Under normal operating conditions, a Class 1, Division 2 location shouldn’t have an explosive atmosphere, but it may occur briefly during maintenance or repair activities, or if a container or vessel accidentally ruptures.
Class 1, Division 2 equipment must meet strict hazardous location rating requirements to ensure it can safely operate in these environments. This compliance can help improve workplace safety and reduce the risk of accidents. Select NCD sensors are Class 1, Division 2 certified for hazardous environments and can prevent ignition in atmospheres that may contain explosive gases or vapors.
NCD C1D2 Certified Sensors are certified for use in groups A, B, C, and D. A list of groups and their associated environments are listed below.
Group A contains only acetylene.
Group B includes hydrogen, gases with more than 30% hydrogen by volume, butadiene, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide.
Group C includes acetaldehyde, cyclopropane, diethyl ether, and dimethyl hydrazine.
Group D includes gasoline, acetone, ammonia, benzene, butane, methane, propane, alcohols and other more commonly encountered compounds.

Not for use in outdoor applications or for use in excessive temperature conditions. Prolonged freezing will prevent batteries from functioning until thawed, using extended temperature range industrial batteries may improve the useful temperature range. Extended freezing applications should use a full-time powered solution. Prolonged exposure to extreme humidity conditions may damage this device. The sensing element is rated for use for 5 years and may be replaced. Exposure to high temperatures may cause the batteries to leak, causing permanent damage to this device. NCD Warranty does not cover battery corrosion or use in excessively smoky environments under any circumstances.
