WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor for Azure®
NCD set out to build the world’s best WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor for Azure®. In doing so, NCD now incorporates a precision Thermocouple Temperature sensor with WiFi communications directly to Azure®. This sensor was developed to work with Azure®. As one of the world’s most popular IoT platforms, Microsoft® Azure® is an essential tool for monitoring a wireless sensor device. Therefore, connectivity of the NCD ecosystem of IoT wireless sensors remains a top priority for the NCD engineering team.
This sensor includes one 5SRTC-TT-K-24-36 K-Type thermocouple probe from Omega.com with a 1m, 24 AWG connection cable, rated for temperature measurement applications up to 260°C (500°F) with an accuracy of ±2.2°C. A K-Type connector, which can be used to connect a higher temperature range, is included. With a built in hot and cold junction, this sensor provides highly accurate readings from the surrounding environment.
NCD’s WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor is an ideal product for measuring high temperature in environments with hot equipment such as industrial boilers, industrial part-cleaning stations, furnaces, ovens, and casting units. With a tolerance of up to 260°C (500°F), this sensor gives precise temperature readings in an extensive list of high temperature environments.
When it comes to temperature sensing, nothing compares to the ease of use, low price, high accuracy, operational temperature range, or security features NCD has to offer. Note that this sensor will need to be externally powered and is capable of using a 6-32VDC power supply.
To begin, access the product guide under resources to learn how to use Azure® and NCD’s WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor in conjunction.
Monitor extreme temperatures with Microsoft® Azure® Cloud Shell
Microsoft® Azure® is an IoT cloud computing platform that allows for effortless data streaming through a built in cloud shell feature.
Cloud shell is used for data streaming in an easy to read format. Furthermore, aspects of sensor data and how it is received is customizable in the Device Twin section.
A user friendly guide on how to setup NCD’s WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor is provided under the Resources Tab. This guide will cover how to set up the sensor and use the basic testing function on Azure®. Azure has more to offer so explore the IoT platform and learn how to creatively visualize sensor data.
NCD’s WiFi Thermocouple Temperature Sensor for Azure® automatically reports temperature data straight to the Azure® cloud via WiFi. For many industries, IoT sensors with direct access to cloud platforms bring tremendous value at low installation costs with no hidden 3rd party fees or monthly services outside the Azure platform.
Below is just a sample list of applications for this sensor. However, the ability to accurately monitor temperature from a remote location with little effort creates an extensive list of applications worldwide.
