The NCD Custom Soil Moisture Device is a wireless monitoring unit designed to measure soil moisture levels using a connected soil moisture probe. Built specifically for field deployment, this device serves as the interface between the probe and the NCD wireless ecosystem—continuously reading soil moisture and transmitting data to an NCD Gateway.
For MASEN deployments, this custom version also includes a protective probe cover, designed to shield the soil moisture probe from physical damage while allowing moisture to pass freely for accurate sensing. This added protection is especially useful in harsh field environments where the probe may be exposed to foot traffic, shifting soil, debris, or equipment movement.
Once installed, the device monitors soil conditions and transmits readings wirelessly, making it ideal for irrigation management, agricultural monitoring, environmental studies, and other ground-based sensing applications. Housed in a rugged Polycase outdoor-rated enclosure, the unit is built to withstand humidity, temperature changes, and field exposure. When paired with the MASEN Basic Hardware Kit, it mounts securely to tripods, poles, or metallic surfaces for consistent deployment across monitoring sites.
