I2C Shield for Particle Electron or Particle Photon for Battery only Power
Use the Particle Electron / Photon to provide cloud connectivity to a world of expansion controllers using the PEI2C expansion. This Board has on board boost circuit, which takes power from the battery and boosts it up to 5V. This Boosted 5V can be used to power up NCD I2C devices. The boost circuit is controlled by A3. if you want to turn off the boost circuit just set this pin Low. It is advised to turn off the I2C port power while it’s not in use. If you draw continuous power from the boost circuit it can get really hot.
The PEI2C provides a 5 Volt I2C expansion port, allowing your Particle Electron or Photon to connect to an ever-growing array of expansion devices. Connect sensors for light level monitoring, gas level detection, temperature and humidity monitoring, as well as many types of motion, acceleration, and direction sensors. Connect our entire array of relay controllers, digital I/O expanders, PWM controllers, and current monitoring devices to your next IoT application with a simple daisy-chain interface.
The PEI2C provides a +5V I2C communication port, making it one of the most important expansions available. The PEI2C allows you to expand into the world of hardware so you can focus on software. The PEI2C is compatible with our PKFR Key Fob overlay expansion, allowing Key Fob communications with the Particle Electron or Photon.
NOTE: If you want to keep your sensor powered all the time please use the PEI2C shield.
